There’s a new product that just received funding via Kickstarter and we’re curious if you’d buy it or not. The JoeyBra was created by two Washington college students and as of this blog’s post, has received more than $10,000 in pledged funds by various backers.
After recognizing how college girls want to avoid carrying purses while out dancing on the town, the two junior business students created the JoeyBra, a pushup bra with a pouch on the left side created specifically for carrying a smartphone, credit cards, ID, money or keys. Inspired by the idea of a kangaroo’s pouch, the JoeyBra allows the wearer to conceal the items she is carrying under her clothing, yet have them close at hand if needed.
JoeyBra creators state on their website: “From our own personal experience, we know that women hate taking purses to dances, bars, or dance clubs. Leaving these items at home can pose a safety risk, but with JoeyBra women will never have to worry losing or damaging their valuables again.”
It’s definitely a novel idea, but does this product appeal to a wider audience of women or just college students? As a public relations firm that specializes in marketing to women, we have some ideas about how this product should be branded and marketed. We’ll be curious to see how the company uses the funds from Kickstarter and whether this brand takes off. Let us know what you think in the comments!
