Here at Her Voice, we’ve discussed customer loyalty and how it is affected by gender, but which brands get the most loyalty from the sexes? According to a report from marketing group Buyology, there are certain desired brands that women hold in high regard. The report comes on the heels of a six-year study of 5,000 consumers classifying 240 U.S. brands.
The top three brands for women are Johnson & Johnson, Sony, and Kleenex. Target also ranks high on the list as well as Amazon, Google, Crest and Disney. Amazon is likely high on the list because of how personal the shopping experience is on its site. By keeping track of consumers’ previous purchases, the site can suggest what they might want to see or purchase next. This makes the whole shopping experience less of a bore and more fun.
Buyology has set out to try and pinpoint patterns in consumer behaviors, as well as looking at what role the subconscious plays in decision making. Donna Sturgess, president of Buyology, said that the list is “meant to communicate to brands and their markets how important it is to form relationships with customers to win and maintain favor.” Even if a brand isn’t listed here, the idea of forming relationships with customers is paramount. Relationships are the backbone of social media and the only real way to create consumers who are loyal for life.
