HER VOICE has lived in my subconscience for years. As a little girl growing up in North Carolina I wanted to BE Karen Carpenter. HER VOICE captivated me. I would stand in front of the mirror singing her songs for hours, secretly wishing that someday, I would possess the power to make people feel how Karen Carpenter made me feel through her music. So, I became a professional singer (my voice teacher told me that if I made enough money singing to pay the rent and feed myself for a year, I could call myself a professional). It took me years to embrace that word, and even longer to embrace the fact that I’m a creative and talented marketing professional.
When I tired of hotels, touring, rehearsals and pretty much being broke all the time, I retired from “professional” singing at the ripe old age of 30. I was getting old and by gosh, it was time to have a baby. I started a second career in advertising in an agency in Atlanta and the rest, as they say, is history.
So here I am….finally creating an online community after preaching to clients the importance of blogs and social media for the past 3 years (there are simply not enough hours in the day for a single mom, entrepreneur, volunteer, running a growing agency). But here we are, and I’m proud of the team we’ve built and the work we’re doing at FletcherPR.
HER VOICE is our platform for idea sharing, empowerment, sensibility, and pure innovation. We understand the female demographic. We know what makes women tick and tock, and ultimately, whip out their credit card. We also know how to reach men through the power of women, and influence consumer behavior on many levels. We’re more than a traditional PR firm. We’re marketing renegades that believe in the power of HER VOICE.
Thanks, Karen.
